Are you or do you know a veterinary technician who would be interested in connecting with a mentor? It's not too late to apply for a fully funded scholarship to participate in MentorVet Tech, courtesy of the AVMA and other partners.
The second of two groups of 150 veterinary technicians will start the MentorVet Tech Scholarship Program on August 1, 2025, and there are still some openings available. Participants receive full scholarships funded by the AVMA, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Merck Animal Health, and Royal Canin.
Apply at mentorvet.net/tech-scholarships.
This five-month program takes place completely online and promotes veterinary technicians' wellbeing through a combination of mentorship, professional development, and peer support.
Applicants must meet these requirements:
Each MentorVet Tech participant is paired with a mentor for ongoing individual support, and also attends monthly 1-hour peer-group meetings with 5-10 other veterinary technicians. In addition, the program includes five self-paced learning modules in professional skills. The program is approved for 10 hours of RACE continuing education credits.
