At its 181st Session (19-20 March 2026), the Executive Board approved their respective mandate for the 2026-2028 term of office.
ICOM is also pleased to announce that the Call for applications for the following Standing Committees is now open:
These Working Groups and Committees play a crucial role in supporting ICOM's governance and advancing professional standards within the global museum community. Membership provides a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise, engage with peers, and help shape ICOM's policies and initiatives.
Who can apply?
All ICOM individual members in good standing are welcome to apply! Before submitting your application, please check the eligibility criteria and the mandate of each Working Group and Standing Committee.
We also encourage you to review the Charter of Commitment to understand the level of commitment expected, as well as the Guidelines for Standing Committees and Working Groups for additional guidance.
ICOM strongly encourages applications from all its members and is committed to ensuring that the composition of its Standing Committees and Working Groups reflects the diversity of the ICOM membership. To support broad and inclusive participation, ICOM is exploring possibilities (digital tools) to facilitate simultaneous interpretation during meetings. However, the primary working language of ICOM Standing Committees and Working Groups remains English.
Application period:
The call for applications is open from 27 March to 26 April 2026 (23:59, Paris time).
Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.
How to apply?
To apply for the Standing Committee on Decolonisation (SCD) and the Strategic Plan Committee (SPC), please complete the online application form.
To apply for the Working Group on Statutes and Rules (WGSR), the Working Group on the Future of International Committees (ICWG), and the Working Group on National Committees (NCWG), please complete the online application form.
Applicants will be required to provide information about their background, motivations, and relevant experience, and to upload a curriculum vitae.
