GILBERT, ARIZONA- Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) recently announced the results of his office's annual Congressional Art Competition, which was themed to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. The winning piece, a painting titled Moment of Reflection by Hamilton High School student Elaine Huang, will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
"I am always blown away by the artistic talent of the students in Arizona's Fifth District, and this year's competition was no exception," said Congressman Biggs. "Each submission this year uniquely encapsulated the best of America and filled me with immense hope, patriotism, and gratitude for our great nation as it approaches its 250th birthday. I congratulate Elaine on winning first place, and I thank the judges, teachers, and schools for encouraging and supporting youth participation in the arts. These mentors contribute to our nation's strength and success."

Background:
The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students who reside in Arizona's Fifth Congressional District. Hundreds of students have entered the contest during Congressman Biggs's five-terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. This year's competition is the last sponsored by Congressman Biggs's office before his retirement from Congress in January 2027.
