"No federal taxes on your first 75,000? If Senator Cory Booker has his way, this could become a reality! The democratic senator from New Jersey proposed a bill that would make the first $75,000 of income for households filing jointly free of federal taxes. It's part of his Keep Your Pay Act. The bill would also expand tax credits, like the Child Tax Credit to $3,600 per child for those six to 17 years old and $4,320 for children under six years old. It would also include an additional $2,400 "baby bonus," the year a child is born to help families offset costs. Single filers and heads of households would also get proportional tax relief."
