City of Memphis Announces Safer Communities Grant Award Recipients
The City of Memphis is proud to announce the recipients of the Safer Communities Grant, an initiative aimed at reducing violence and fostering safer neighborhoods throughout Memphis. This program recognizes and supports community-based organizations (CBOs) dedicated to creating positive change and addressing the root causes of violence.
The awardees will be honored at a special presentation and reception on November 19, 2024, at 10:30 AM at City Hall, in the Hall of Mayors. Each recipient will receive a certificate recognizing their dedication and commitment to building stronger, healthier communities during this event.
The Safer Communities Grant Program has allocated $1 million in funds to 39 CBOs, with varying amounts, to begin or continue work on violence reduction and enhancing community safety in various zip codes. The staff from the Joint Office of Neighborhood Safety & Engagement will provide ongoing support to awardees through site visits, training, and capacity building.
We congratulate all the award recipients and look forward to partnering with them in our collective mission to build a safer Memphis.
