Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Alpha Bank on a €325 million syndicated financing for Theon International Plc (THEON), a leading European defence technology group specialising in the development and production of night vision and thermal imaging systems for defence and security applications.
The financing will support the execution of THEON's strategic growth initiatives and the continued expansion of its international presence, reinforcing its leading position in the rapidly growing defence technology sector.
Alpha Bank acted as exclusive coordinator of the transaction and coordinated the participation of leading Greek and international banking institutions. Alpha Bank, CrediaBank, Eurobank, National Bank of Greece and Piraeus Bank participated as mandated lead arrangers and lenders, while BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank participated as lead arrangers and lenders.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising on the deal was led by EMEA Co-Head of Asset Finance Yianni Cheilas, with the support of senior associate Alexi Remoundos. Counsel Dimitris Rampos and associate Asimina Papakosta advised on Greek law matters.
Yianni Cheilas commented:
"We were delighted to advise Alpha Bank on this strategically significant financing for THEON. Commitments received for the transaction exceeded the initial financing target, reflecting strong interest from the banking market in high-credit-quality companies operating in the defence sector. Bringing together a syndicate of leading Greek and international lenders, this financing will support THEON's strategic growth plans and further international expansion, while demonstrating Alpha Bank's ability to deliver large-scale, complex financing solutions."
