The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and Midway Partnership today marked another milestone in the ongoing modernization of Midway International Airport with the grand openings of Chicago Sports and Johnston & Murphy. The new stores highlight the continued investment and momentum driving improvements across the airport's concessions program.

"We know travelers come through our airports for countless reasons, and we're committed to offering retail options that meet all of their needs - whether it's finding a last-minute gift for a loved one or picking up a new blazer for a meeting right after landing," said Commissioner Michael McMurray of the Chicago Department of Aviation. "The addition of Chicago Sports and Johnston & Murphy strengthens our retail mix and keeps Chicago's airports among the best in the world for passenger experience."

Passengers can also represent Chicago and its iconic sports teams no matter the destination with officially licensed gear and merchandise from Chicago Sports. From hats and jerseys to hoodies and T-shirts, there's something for every Chicago sports fan. Whether you're a fan of the Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Bulls, or Blackhawks, Chicago Sports is the perfect stop to grab gear on the go or for a last-minute outfit to watch the games in style at one of Midway's eateries.

"We're thrilled to welcome these exciting new retail concepts to Midway's ever-growing lineup of shops, restaurants, and amenities" said Shawnta Young, General Manager, Midway Partnership. "These additions reflect our ongoing commitment to making Midway a destination that celebrates Chicago's energy, creativity and businesses. We are grateful to our partners at the CDA, Vantage Group, SSP America, and Hudson for collaborating to offer a world-class, Chicago-inspired experience to guests at Midway."

"We are excited to open our first location in Midway International Airport," said Connie Cartmill, Johnston & Murphy's VP of stores. "Midway Partnership's focus on enhancing passenger experiences and reimagining retail spaces is changing the way people think of airport travel. We believe that our diversified product assortment for men and women and unparalleled customer experience makes J&M a go-to for Midway's frequent travelers."

Founded in 1850, Johnston & Murphy, a division of Nashville-based Genesco Inc., is an iconic American brand with a rich heritage that inspires its design aesthetic. Johnston & Murphy offers modern interpretations of classic styles to men and women who appreciate beautiful and functional products made with premium materials, great craftsmanship and enduring quality.

For travelers looking for gear a little less sporty, Johnston & Murphy delivers timeless style and expert craftmanship in its footwear and clothing. With offerings for both men and women, passengers can step into refined classics built for comfort and style.

The location is operated through a joint venture with Genesco Inc., a specialty retailer whose portfolio includes brands such as Journeys, Schuh, and Dockers Footwear.

Both shops are open daily in Concourse B - Chicago Sports from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Johnston & Murphy from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. These stores join the wide range of retail options available at Midway.
