Your Company Story

Hummel Group was opened in 1957 as Hummel Insurance Agency by Paul & Mary Hummel in Berlin, Ohio. Paul, a local pastor, began selling insurance out of his home to "supplement his preaching habit." Our agency was started in Holmes County and wrote predominantly homes, farms and autos. We have expanded to seven locations with 175+ employees. While our capabilities have grown, we strive to maintain the same close personal relationships with our clients and put their interests first.

Our agency has grown significantly in size and abilities. In the 1950s, we only represented 2-3 insurance companies. We represent proven insurance companies in the commercial agribusiness field.

We're focused on growing through "word of mouth" referrals and providing alternative options.
