On June 1, the Palm Beach County Office of Emergency Management conducted a full-scale hurricane exercise involving more than 100 participants and numerous community partners from across the county.
The exercise provided an opportunity to test plans, strengthen coordination, and enhance our ability to respond to a major hurricane impacting Palm Beach County. Participants worked through realistic scenarios involving emergency operations, resource management, public information, and interagency coordination.
We would like to thank all of our municipal, county, state, healthcare, public safety, nonprofit, and private-sector partners who participated and helped make the exercise a success. Preparing for disasters is a team effort, and exercises like this help ensure we are ready when our community needs us most.
Hurricane season is here. Now is the time for residents and businesses to review their emergency plans, build emergency supply kits, and stay informed.
