Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center (ELARC) is aware of the disruption and stress recent immigration enforcement activity has caused within the community we serve. As Service Providers, you are our partners in providing services to all, even during these challenging and uncertain times.
It has been shared that some individuals served and their families are fearful of fully participating in services provided and that some providers are stepping back from full community integration activities due to safety concerns. This is understandable and the recent activities take an emotional toll on many we serve, particularly in areas directly impacted by these events. Please do keep in communication with ELARC regarding the impact of these events on service delivery at communityservices@elarc.orgShould you or those you serve need immediate support after business hours, including over the weekends, ELARC does have after hours Management Staff available to provide guidance and assistance at 626 299-4700.
Please note that the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) can, as a result of the State of Emergency, authorize, pursuant to Title 17 California Code of Regulations (CCR) section 54326(a)(11), regional centers to pay vendors for absences that are the direct result of the State of Emergency. No State of Emergency has been declared at this time, so there is no authorization for absence billing at this time. However, this is a unique situation about which DDS is monitoring and in communication with the Regional Centers. ELARC will share information as we are informed. We are here to support you in serving the individuals and families in our community.
Thank you for providing services that are safe and welcoming spaces for our community.
