Warsaw to Host Presentation of CBSS Anti-Trafficking Handbook

On 8 October 2025, the Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration will host a training event in Warsaw, organised under the Polish Presidency of the CBSS, for staff of embassies and diplomatic missions on strengthening responses to human trafficking.

Held at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event will notably feature the presentation of the CBSS Handbook for Embassies and Diplomatic Missions - How to Assist and Protect Victims of Human Trafficking.

The aim of the event is to sensitise diplomatic and consular personnel to identifying and handling cases of human trafficking, ensuring they are better equipped to respond to such situations.

The programme includes a workshop for participating embassies and diplomatic missions based in Poland, offering practical exercises and peer exchange on identifying and assisting potential victims of trafficking.

The CBSS Handbook, specifically developed to support diplomatic and consular personnel, provides clear guidance on prevention, victim identification, assistance pathways and safe return. It adopts a victim-centred and child-rights-based approach, with particular attention to the gender dimensions of trafficking cases.

The Handbook was developed by the CBSS, in cooperation with the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the UN's International Organization for Migration (IOM).
