GNAPH Launches Regional Climate and Health Communities of Practice

May 6, 2026

The Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH), in collaboration with the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE), is pleased to announce the launch of its regional Communities of Practice (CoPs), following from the recent Climate-Ready Classrooms faculty development course. This global effort brings together faculty from across GNAPH's seven regional member associations, including ASPPH, to advance the integration of climate and health into public health education.

Each regional association will host its own CoP, shaped by the unique perspectives, pedagogical approaches, institutional contexts, and climate-related health challenges of that region. The initiative will also create opportunities for cross-regional exchange and collaboration, strengthening connections among educators across the global network.

Through these faculty-led virtual CoPs, participants will engage collaboratively to develop and adapt teaching materials, explore strategies for curriculum integration, identify and address institutional barriers, and ultimately seek to better prepare the future public health workforce for the realities of climate change.

ASPPH is thrilled to support faculty in this next phase of translating climate and health knowledge into meaningful curricular practice, and we encourage colleagues to stay tuned for the resources, materials, and insights that will emerge from this global effort.
