(Temple, Texas, October 14, 2026) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development recently announced nearly $25 billion in rural community investments nationwide in fiscal year 2026. These projects strengthen essential infrastructure, expand housing and business opportunities, and ensure rural families and farmers have the tools they need to succeed.
In Texas, Rural Development invested more than $1.2 billion in loans and grants in fiscal year 2026 to support these efforts.
"Thanks to the leadership of the Trump-Vance Administration and Secretary Brooke Rollins, USDA is delivering meaningful investments that support the growth and prosperity of rural America, and Texans are seeing the benefits firsthand in their communities," said USDA Rural Development Texas State Director James Redfield. "From improving water systems and modernizing the electric grid to supporting education, public safety, housing, and small businesses, these projects are creating lasting opportunities for rural communities. I am especially grateful to the dedicated team at USDA Rural Development Texas, whose hard work and commitment to service help make investments like these possible for rural families, businesses, and communities across our state."
