City facilities closed January 9 due to winter weather

The City of Burleson facilities will be closed on Thursday, January 9, in anticipation of hazardous winter weather conditions. Essential city operations will continue to perform duties during this time.

Our Public Works team has treated major roads with brine and is fully prepared with ice melt and loaded sanders ready for deployment. Meanwhile, Burleson's public safety crews remain on standby, ready to serve the community.

Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads if possible. If travel is necessary, follow these winter driving safety tips:

• Slow down and maintain at least three times the normal following distance.
• Use extra caution on bridges, ramps, overpasses, and shaded areas, as they freeze first.
• Remove snow and ice from your vehicle before driving, and ensure headlights and taillights are functioning properly.
