Repeat Offender Arrested for Burglaries, Mail and Auto Theft...

Chicago, IL - A joint operation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Chicago Police Department led to the arrest of Veronica Cavallari, 29, on December 15, 2025, on Chicago's North Side following a vehicle pursuit. Cavallari was identified as the suspect responsible for multiple burglaries, mail thefts, armed robberies, and automobile thefts on the North Side and in northern Cook County.

Based on the investigation, Cavallari was charged by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office with one felony count each of felon in possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm with defaced serial number, and criminal damage to government property. Charges also included one misdemeanor count each of leaving the scene of an accident, criminal trespass to a vehicle, possession of a title or registration without authorization, and expired driver's license. Charges for burglary and automobile theft are pending.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service appreciates the assistance of the Chicago Police Department in this investigation, specifically the 24th District Robbery/Burglary/Theft Mission Team and the 17th District Robbery/Burglary/Theft detectives, as well as the ongoing partnership with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

It is important to note that criminal charges are only allegations against a person. Every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
