BLOOMINGTON, IL - Brent Eichelberger, CEO of Commerce Bank Illinois, announced key leadership promotions in Illinois effective today, recognizing the contributions of four accomplished bankers whose leadership and commitment have helped shape Commerce Bank's success in Illinois.
Byron Blotcky has been named chairman in Bloomington-Normal, while Nick Moran has been promoted to Bloomington-Normal president, with additional responsibility for leading the bank's continued growth efforts in Northern Illinois. Scott Swartzendruber has been promoted to executive vice president and commercial banking division manager for Illinois. Nicole Hoffman has been promoted to senior vice president and senior relationship manager and will continue leading the growth and management of Commerce Bank's Healthcare Banking business across Illinois.
"These leadership appointments recognize the tremendous impact Byron, Nick, Scott and Nicole have had on our organization, our clients, and the communities we serve," said Eichelberger. "Together, they represent a strong leadership team and our commitment to building long-term relationships in McLean County, Will County and across Illinois."
As chairman in Bloomington-Normal, Blotcky will continue to serve as a trusted advisor to customers and an ambassador for Commerce Bank while supporting the bank's ongoing commitment to clients and communities throughout the region.
This year marks a significant milestone for Blotcky as he celebrates 50 years of service with Commerce Bank. During his distinguished career, he has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the organization while developing lasting relationships throughout the Bloomington-Normal community.
"Few leaders have had the lasting influence that Byron has had on Commerce Bank and the Bloomington-Normal community," said Eichelberger. "Throughout his 50-year career, he has earned the trust of clients, strengthened our culture, and helped generations of team members grow and succeed. Blotcky has long been recognized for his community involvement and currently serves on the boards of the WD Boyce Council of Scouting America and The Salvation Army. He is also a member of the Bloomington Kiwanis Club and previously served on the boards of the Unit 5 Foundation and the Children's Discovery Museum.
Moran has been promoted to Bloomington-Normal president, where he will lead Commerce Bank's market strategy while also overseeing the bank's continued growth initiatives in Northern Illinois. A 25-year Commerce Bank veteran, Moran has built a well-rounded and impactful career spanning multiple areas of the organization. Most recently, he has played a key leadership role in managing Commerce Bank's efforts in Will County, helping drive growth and expand the bank's presence in Northern Illinois.
"Nick has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to client relationships, and a passion for helping communities thrive," said Eichelberger. "His broad experience and proven success make him exceptionally well-suited to lead Bloomington-Normal and support our continued growth in Northern Illinois."
Moran is actively involved in numerous civic and community organizations, including the Will County Center for Economic Development, Joliet Rotary Club #78, and the Prairie City Soccer League. His previous community leadership includes service as a board member for the Central Illinois American Red Cross and Recovery Starts Today, as well as volunteer work with the Miller Park Zoo Stampede.
Swartzendruber has been promoted to executive vice president and commercial banking division manager for Illinois. In this role, he will have primary responsibility for managing and growing Commerce Bank's Commercial Banking business throughout Illinois.
A 26-year Commerce Bank veteran, Swartzendruber has built a strong reputation for leadership and deep industry experience. Throughout his career, he has developed significant knowledge in the agribusiness sector, serving clients through a thoughtful, relationship-focused approach.
"Scott's extensive experience, leadership abilities, and understanding of the Illinois commercial banking landscape make him exceptionally qualified for this role," said Eichelberger. "His commitment to clients and colleagues has been instrumental to our success, and we look forward to the impact he will continue to make across the state."
Swartzendruber is a past Alliance Director for the Grain and Feed Association, serves on the alumni board for Alpha Gamma Rho, and holds a leadership role within his church.
Nicole Hoffman has been promoted to senior vice president and senior relationship manager and will continue leading the growth and management of Commerce Bank's Healthcare Banking business across Illinois. A 23-year Commerce Bank veteran, Hoffman brings extensive industry knowledge, strong relationship-building skills and leadership experience to this role. She currently serves as board president of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce, treasurer and board member of the Bloomington-Normal YMCA, and a board member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. She is also a graduate of Leadership Illinois.
In addition to these leadership appointments, Steve Sebade will continue to lead Commerce Bank's Illinois agribusiness and food processing division. Together, Hoffman and Sebade provide continuity and specialized expertise across two of the bank's key industry segments, working in partnership with Swartzendruber's leadership of commercial banking throughout Illinois.
