On 5 February, Chinese Ambassador to PNG H.E. Yang Xiaoguang met with PNG Acting Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Lands, Planning, Urbanization and Immigration Hon. John Rosso. The two sides exchanged views on China-PNG relations and other issues of mutual interest.
Ambassador Yang noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and PNG. Over the past fifty years, China-PNG cooperation across various fields has achieved fruitful outcomes. China appreciates PNG's consistent adherence to the one-China principle and stands ready to work with PNG to further deepen and consolidate the China-PNG comprehensive strategic partnership, bringing more benefits to both countries and peoples.
Acting Prime Minister Rosso stated that PNG attaches great importance to its relations with China and cherishes the profound friendship between the two countries. PNG will continue to uphold the foreign policy of "friends to all, enemies to none", firmly adhere to the one-China policy, and actively advance cooperation with China.
