WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, issued the following statement:
"Both those who support and oppose Sunday's decision by the Israeli Security Cabinet recognize it for what it is - a green light for unilateral annexation of the West Bank. This decision violates the Oslo Accords, threatens Israel's security, and inflames already high tensions while undermining regional normalization efforts, including the Abraham Accords.
"In addition to being at odds with Trump's 20-point plan, this decision creates a concerning pretense for administrative steps that will create new facts on the ground and push peace further out of reach. The announced policy must be reversed to protect Israel's existence as a democratic Jewish state and to ensure the Palestinian people's right to freedom, self-determination, and a viable state of their own."
