ECUA District Four Board Seat to Be Open in 2026

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) will have an open board seat in 2026 due to the announcement by District Four Board Member Dale Perkins that he will not seek re-election.

Perkins, who was first elected in November 1994, has served on the ECUA Board for 32 years. During his tenure, he helped guide ECUA through hurricane recovery efforts following Hurricane Ivan in 2004, supported the closure of the Main Street Wastewater Treatment Plant and the construction of the Central Water Reclamation Facility, and served on the Board that donated the iconic Pensacola Beach Ball water tower to the Santa Rosa Island Authority in 2008 rather than remove it.

Throughout his service, Perkins demonstrated a strong commitment to the ECUA customers by balancing environmental stewardship, resident advocacy, and transparent governance.

Following completion of his current term, the District Four seat will open, with the new board member's term beginning in November 2026 and running through November 2030.

Individuals interested in running for the ECUA District Four Board Member position are encouraged to visit https://escambiavotes.gov/running-for-office or contact the Escambia County Supervisor of Elections office for information on qualifications and filing requirements.
