Chinese Embassy in Mauritius Holds the Chinese New Year Reception

On January 21, Chinese Embassy in Mauritius held a reception to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Mauritian President Dharambeer Gokhool, Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, Vice-President Jean Yvan Robert Hungley, Deputy Prime Minister Paul Raymond Bérenger, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade Dhananjay Ramful, together with other dignitaries and representatives from various sectors, were invited to attend.

In her remarks, Ambassador Huang Shifang stated that over the past year, China's economy has been characterized by strong resilience. Under the guidance of the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, China's development will offer more opportunities to the world. The year 2025 marks the first year of implementation of the China-Mauritius strategic partnership, with bilateral cooperation across various fields continuing to deepen. Looking ahead, China is willing to work with Mauritius to further expand practical cooperation, foster closer ties between the peoples of the two countries and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.

President Gokhool wished China continued prosperity, the Chinese people well-being, and enduring friendship between the two countries. Foreign Minister Ramful told the media that China has always been a friendly country of Mauritius and thanked the Chinese side for its support for Mauritius' economic and social development.

The guests viewed the Chinese Zodiac-themed photo exhibition and cultural performances, with a lively and festive atmosphere at the venue.
