WASHINGTON, June 3, 2026 - The following is attributable to Airlines for America (A4A):
A4A thanks Governor Polis for vetoing SB26-134 and for standing up for Colorado consumers by ensuring that their valued credit card rewards programs are preserved. Millions of consumers in Colorado regularly use the points they earn, and they rely on those rewards for household purchases from groceries and gas to clothing and vacations.
In a recent statewide poll, nine out of ten Coloradans said it is "important" to preserve credit card reward programs. The same survey found that 80 percent of Coloradans wanted the governor to veto SB26-134.
Credit card rewards generate significant economic benefits for the state. More than 740,000 people flew to Colorado using airline credit card points, and airline credit cards alone generate an estimated $1.2 billion in economic impact across Colorado. We appreciate and applaud Governor Polis' strong leadership in standing up for consumers, preserving these valuable programs and growing the state's $86 billion tourism economy.
