FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 1, 2025
Pueblo, CO- On November 1, 2025, at approximately 02:24 A.M., dispatch received a Shot Spotter call in the area of Acero Avenue and Anasazi where 15 rounds were detected. During that time, dispatch also received multiple calls from different parties stating someone had been shot.
Officers arrived on scene and observed a male party who appeared to have been shot; he was pronounced deceased on scene. The Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity after the appropriate notifications have been made.
Detectives from the Pueblo Police Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Investigations Sections responded to investigate the incident. Detectives have identified 25-year-old Darian Cocilo as the suspect. Cocilo has been booked into the Pueblo County Detention Facility on 1st Degree Murder. The circumstances of the shooting are being investigated. This appears to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
This marks the City's 11th Homicide of 2025; there were 17 homicides year-to-date in 2024.
