NTCA Highlights Need for Improvements to Broadband Data Collection and Mapping

(April 30) In a meeting with staff to FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty, NTCA and its members discussed ongoing concerns with Broadband Data Collection data and the National Broadband Map, including inaccurate location data, overstated coverage claims, and limitations in the challenge process. NTCA urged the commission to enhance transparency, incorporate real-world evidence, and adopt methodologies that better reflect actual network capacity when using mapping data to inform policy and funding decisions.
