Local businesses are invited to join the City of Ventura's 2025 Window Wonderland program! Help transform our storefronts with creative holiday displays that brighten our shopping corridors and inspire the community to shop local.

Community members will also get to vote for their favorite displays, giving participating businesses a chance to win free advertising prizes.

All things sustainability: Community programs in action

Our latest Ventura Voices episode, "All Things Sustainability: Ventura's Community Programs in Action," highlights how the Environmental Sustainability Division has grown from 1990s recycling efforts into a leader in waste reduction, clean energy, and climate planning. Final year for Thomas Fire rebuild benefits

The City of Ventura's Thomas Fire Rebuild Overlay Zone will expire on December 31, 2025. Property owners wishing to use these rebuilding benefits must apply for and receive permits before the deadline. Starting January 1, 2026, all projects will be reviewed under current zoning rules, and expired applications must be resubmitted without Overlay benefits.

Please plan ahead as City Hall will be closed December 25 through January 1.

Spread holiday cheer to seniors in our nutrition and home-delivered meal programs! Donate items from our wish list now through Wednesday, December 10:

Drop-off locations include City Hall, the Ventura Aquatic Center, and the Ventura Avenue Adult Center.

January 28: Volunteers needed for Point-in-Time Count

Join us on January 28, 2026 for Ventura County's Point-in-Time Count. Help ensure every person experiencing homelessness is seen and counted. Choose your preferred area, volunteer 2-5 hours at sunrise, and attend one brief training.

  • Time Commitment: 2-5 hours, depending on location
  • Choose Your Area: Select your preferred city when registering
  • Team Up: Sign up with friends or be matched with other volunteers
  • Required Training: Live training provided prior to the count
