The City of Hemet is proud to announce that Police Chief Michael Arellano has been selected and accepted into the FBI National Academy Session #297, a highly respected leadership and professional development program for law enforcement executives from across the nation and around the world.
The 10-week academy will take place at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, from January 7 through March 20, 2026. Participation in the FBI National Academy is a significant professional achievement, with attendees selected through a competitive nomination process based on leadership ability, experience, and commitment to public service.
The FBI National Academy curriculum includes advanced training in leadership development, management science, behavioral science, intelligence theory, law enforcement communications, and physical fitness.
Chief Arellano's selection reflects his dedication to professional excellence and the Hemet Police Department's commitment to continuous improvement and best practices in public safety.
To ensure seamless continuity of leadership and operations during Chief Arellano's temporary absence, interim command assignments have been established:
All administrative, operational, and command responsibilities of the Hemet Police Department will be maintained without interruption throughout this period, ensuring continued service, leadership, and public safety for the Hemet community.
