Governor Stitt Appoints James Green as District 18 Attorney for Pittsburg and Haskell Counties
OKLAHOMA CITY (July 20, 2026) - Governor Stitt announced the appointment of James Green as District Attorney for District 18, representing Pittsburg and Haskell Counties. This appointment is effective immediately.
"James' experience as acting district attorney has proven he has the leadership, judgment, and character to serve as district attorney for the citizens of District 18," said Governor Stitt. "His eight years as a prosecutor, combined with his military service, have prepared him to uphold the rule of law in our communities. I have no doubt James will deliver justice to his district and the people of Oklahoma."
Green earned his law degree from Cooley Law School in 2006 after leaving the U.S Marine Corps, where he served a total of 20 years, including nine as an enlisted Marine. After earning his law degree, Green reenlisted in the Corps as a commissioned officer, serving as a Marine Corps judge advocate. After retiring from the Corps, Green practiced law in Virgina before opening a private practice in Stigler in 2020.
"It's a privilege to continue serving the people of this district," said Green. "I look forward to working alongside our law enforcement partners to pursue justice with integrity and respect for every Oklahoman."
