French Ambassador Meets Defence Secretary

The Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr. Rémi Lambert, met the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Ministry of Defence today (17 June).

During the meeting, the Defence Secretary and the French Ambassador held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest and explored avenues to further strengthen defence cooperation, capacity building, and bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and France.

They also exchanged views on the Regional Center for Maritime Studies established at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU).

The ambassador was accompanied by the Director of Studies (French) at the RCMS Commander Carine Buzaud and the French Maritime Safety and Security Advisor, Lieutenant Commander Florian Bouvenot.
