The City of Oceanside is seeking nominees for its 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award. This annual award, which began in 1990, recognizes and honors residents of Oceanside who've made a significant contribution of time and energy through volunteer work to improve community life, promote positive community development, and enhance the lives of individuals and improve neighborhoods. The award is named in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in recognition of his contributions to promote positive relationships between people, groups, and cultures.
Any resident of Oceanside or military member stationed at Camp Pendleton may be nominated for the award. There are no restrictions as to race, ethnicity, age, or type of volunteer service. More information and nomination forms here.
The deadline to return nomination forms is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025. All 2026 nominees will be recognized and the 2026 recipient will be announced at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast commemorating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 19, 2026.
