CONGRESSWOMAN ROBIN KELLY CONDEMNS UNPRECEDENTED FEDERAL RAID ON CONGRESSWOMAN ILHAN OMAR’S HOME

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Robin Kelly (IL-02), issued the following statement regarding the Trump administration's federal raid on the home of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and her family.

"I am glad to hear that Congresswoman Omar and her family are safe. This unprecedented raid is an authoritarian use of power and an attempt to turn federal law enforcement into a tool for political retribution against a sitting member of Congress on the eve of an election.

The Trump administration's raid on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's home is deeply disturbing and raises serious questions about the continued corrupt weaponization of the federal government against President Trump's adversaries.

We are watching a wannabe dictator use his violent mass deportation machine to terrorize an elected official and her family.

No president should ever use government power to threaten, silence, or intimidate the people who disagree with them. These actions force us to ask whether we still live in a democracy, or if we are slipping into a dictatorship. I stand completely with Ilhan."
