Holiday Garbage & Recycling Collection Delay

In observance of the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays, garbage, yard waste, and recycling collection will be delayed during the weeks of December 21 and December 28, 2025. The adjusted schedule is as follows:

• Thursday, Dec. 25 - No Collection
• Friday, Dec. 26 - Thursday Collections
• Saturday, Dec. 27 - Friday Collections
• Thursday, Jan. 1 - No Collection
• Friday, Jan. 2 - Thursday Collection
• Saturday, Jan. 3 - Friday Collection

Citizen's Convenience Center Hours
The Citizen's Convenience Center (CCC), located at 5800 28th Street, will close at Noon on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 and remain closed through Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. Regular hours will resume on Friday, December 26, 2025. Additionally, the CCC will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 and remain closed through New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026. Normal operating hours will resume on Friday, January 2, 2026. For additional information, please contact the CCC directly at 712-255-8345.

Landfill Holiday Hours
The L.P. Gill Landfill, located in Jackson, Nebraska, will close at Noon on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 and remain closed through Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. Regular hours will resume on Friday, December 26, 2025. Additionally, the landfill will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 and remain closed through New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026. Normal operating hours will resume on Friday, January 2, 2026. For additional information, please contact the landfill directly at 402-259-0026.

Curbside Collection Guidelines
Residents are reminded that all items for curbside collection should fit inside the container with the lid closed. If additional capacity is needed, one-time use stickers for extra containers are available for purchase at City Hall, all major grocery stores, and Wilmes Hardware on Hamilton Boulevard.

Recycling Reminders
During the holiday season, the following items are acceptable for recycling:

• Acceptable: Wrapping paper, boxes, and rigid plastics
• Not Acceptable: Christmas lights, ribbons, bows, and flexible plastic films

Residents are encouraged to recycle responsibly by avoiding contamination and placing only approved materials in their recycling bins.
