My Dearest NCCU Family:
I am deeply saddened to announce the tragic loss of one of our students, Mr. Xavier Neil Holton, who passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024. While details surrounding his passing remain under investigation, the pain of losing a member of our Eagle family is deeply felt across our community.
During this difficult time, students are encouraged to seek support if needed. Counseling appointments can be arranged by calling 919-530-7646 or visiting the Student Health Building, 2nd Floor, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Drop-in hours are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., although there may be a wait time during these hours. Additionally, crisis management services are offered after 5 p.m. through the same contact number. Faculty and staff may utilize the ComPsych guidance resources on the university's HR page.
Please keep Xavier's family, friends, professors and classmates in your thoughts and prayers.
In Truth and Service,
Dr. Karrie G. Dixon
