Two 18-year-olds remain in custody following their arrests Sunday morning after they were spotted breaking into several vehicles on Church Street before they fled from Vehicle Crimes Section detectives in a stolen Nissan Maxima that was known to have been used in recent car burglaries.
Esean Harris and Dareon Henry were the two occupants arrested out of the five that fled from the stolen Maxima as they were tracked to Nolensville Pike by MNPD Aviation. A loaded handgun was recovered by detectives at the scene as well as a backpack, window punch and Autel key fob (that is commonly used to reprogram vehicles). The backpack was stolen from a Range Rover on Church Street.
The Maxima, which was reported stolen on Friday morning from Nolensville Pike, also had the window smashed and was reprogrammed as the owner still had the keys to her vehicle.
Harris was charged with three counts of motor vehicle burglary as well as vandalism and evading arrest. He is being held in lieu of $42,000 bond.
Henry was charged with three counts of motor vehicle burglary, two counts of theft and evading arrest. He is being held on $62,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
