NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Subject to AS 38.05.080, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Qayaq Construction LLC

PROJECT NAME: LAS 36243

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
DOT&PF Material Site MS 680-114-2 (133 Mile Pit), approximately Milepost 133 of the Elliott Highway. See attached application.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Section 33, Township 4 North, Range 13 West, Fairbanks Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Northern Region Land Office (NRO), has received a Land Use Permit (LUP) application from Qayaq Construction LLC for the use of approximately 5 acres of state land within DOT&PF Material Site MS 680-114-2 (133 Mile Pit). The site would be used as a temporary construction camp and equipment parking area in support of the Elliott Highway Milepost 137-149 and Tofty/Tanana Road Emergency Repairs project. Proposed improvements include RV parking for up to 20 project personnel, potable water storage, wastewater holding tanks, generators, vehicle and equipment parking, and a fuel and service area.

REQUESTED TERM: 1 Year

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: Public comments are due by September 28, 2026.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
