Helping Meet Residents' Food Needs, PT TIMAH Distributes 600 Basic Food Packages in West Bangka

WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its concern for communities around its operational areas by distributing 600 basic food packages to residents in West Bangka Regency.

This assistance is expected to help meet basic needs during the month of Ramadan for communities in need.

Previously, during the Ramadan Safari event held last Wednesday, the food aid was symbolically handed over by the Board of Commissioners and Directors of PT TIMAH at Graha Majapahit, Mentok, West Bangka Regency.

A total of 600 basic food packages were distributed to communities in the company's production areas. The distribution of this assistance was carried out in collaboration with local village and sub-district governments to ensure it reaches the intended recipients.

One of the areas receiving the assistance was Sungai Baru Subdistrict, Mentok District, which received 100 food packages. The aid was handed over to Sungai Baru Subdistrict Head Sudirman on Friday (6/3/2026).

Sungai Baru Subdistrict Head Sudirman expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH's concern and continued presence in helping the community, especially during the month of Ramadan.

"Alhamdulillah, during this Ramadan there are still many parties who understand the condition of our community, including PT TIMAH. During this Ramadan alone, assistance has already been distributed twice to Sungai Baru Subdistrict," he said.

He conveyed his gratitude for the assistance provided and ensured that the food packages would be distributed to residents in need.

"We would like to express our deepest gratitude to PT TIMAH for this assistance. These food packages will be distributed to families who need them," he said.

According to Sudirman, the food aid program from PT TIMAH has been running for a long time and has been very beneficial for the community.

"Although I have only recently served as the subdistrict head, we know that this program has been running for years. This program is very good and we hope it can continue to be maintained and even improved in the future," he said.

He also hopes that the synergy between the subdistrict government and PT TIMAH will continue to be well maintained in helping the community.

"Our hope is that this program can continue to be maintained and improved, so that the synergy and collaboration between the Sungai Baru Subdistrict Government and PT TIMAH will become even stronger," he added.

One of the aid recipients, Ashari Aman, expressed his gratitude for receiving the food assistance from PT TIMAH, which is routinely distributed every Ramadan.

"Alhamdulillah, thank you to PT TIMAH for the assistance that helps us every year. Our prayers are that PT TIMAH will remain successful, production will run smoothly, the company will continue to make profits, and its employees will prosper," he said.

Another recipient, Nurmala (60), also said that the food assistance is very helpful for the community, especially amid the challenging economic conditions ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

"Economic conditions are quite difficult now, especially ahead of Eid. Assistance like this really helps and eases our burden. Thank you to PT TIMAH for always caring about the community," she said. (*)
