Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and the Orange County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce that the 45th Annual Herb Day Lecture and Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The event is hosted by The Friends of Hill-Hold and Brick House Museums as part of an ongoing tradition that supports local history and education.
"Herb Day is a wonderful tradition that brings the community together in a meaningful way while supporting the ongoing mission of Hill-Hold and Brick House," said Neuhaus. "I encourage interested residents to attend this special event."
The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Graham Skea Lodge, located in Thomas Bull Memorial Park, with a featured lecture by Kirsten Gabrielsen of Danstrik Naturally Dyed Yarns and More. Gabrielsen will present "Dyeing Yarn with Plants and Herbs," offering guests an engaging look into the traditional craft of natural dyeing.
Following the lecture, guests will head to the Hill-Hold historic homestead for a three-course herb-themed luncheon served under a tent on the front lawn of the museum. Attendees are invited to enjoy a walk through the colonial herb garden after the meal.
Additional activities will include a silent auction featuring curated gift baskets, raffles for herb planters, and opportunities to win fun door prizes.
Tickets for Herb Day are $60 per person and include both the lecture and luncheon. Advance registration and payment are required by July 30.
