ASPPH Welcomes Two New Member Programs

August 5, 2026

ASPPH is pleased to welcome the Johnson & Wales University Master of Public Health Program and the University of California Riverside School of Medicine Master of Public Health Program as the newest members of our growing community dedicated to advancing academic public health. We look forward to partnering with these outstanding institutions as they contribute their expertise, innovation, and commitment to improving the health of communities.

Located in Providence, Rhode Island, the Johnson & Wales University MPH Program prepares future public health professionals through an applied, community-engaged approach to learning. Students work with community stakeholders to address real-world public health challenges while developing practical skills in health communication, epidemiology, biostatistics, and advocacy. The program's flexible scheduling options, experienced faculty, and emphasis on experiential learning prepare graduates to address today's public health challenges.

The University of California, Riverside School of Medicine MPH Program, which welcomed its inaugural cohort in Fall 2024, prepares the next generation of public health leaders through an interdisciplinary curriculum with a strong emphasis on community health equity. Created to support the health needs of Inland Southern California, the program combines rigorous instruction with practical public health experience, preparing graduates to understand health inequities and partner with communities to develop evidence-based solutions that improve population health.

We are excited to welcome Johnson & Wales University and the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine to the ASPPH community and look forward to the perspectives, collaboration, and innovation they will bring as we continue advancing excellence in academic public health.
