Dr. Shelly Mencacci named Vice President of Advancement at Southeastern Oklahoma State University

DURANT, Okla. - Southeastern Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Shelly Mencacci as Vice President of Advancement, effective this summer.

Dr. Mencacci currently serves as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Northern Oklahoma College and brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education leadership. A native Oklahoman, Dr. Mencacci earned both a bachelor's and master's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where she also began her professional career.

"We are excited to welcome Dr. Mencacci back home and are excited for her to join the leadership team," said Southeastern president David Whitlock. "She brings a wealth of leadership experience and a service mindset to her alma mater."

During her time at Southeastern, Dr. Mencacci developed both personally and professionally, including meeting her spouse, Warren. Beginning as a graduate assistant, she progressed into senior leadership roles and made significant contributions to curriculum innovation, academic strategy, and student success initiatives. Her work has consistently focused on aligning academic programs with evolving industry needs and student expectations.

Dr. Mencacci holds a Ph.D. in Education from Texas Woman's University. Her professional expertise includes curriculum development, strategic planning, and building collaborative partnerships that strengthen institutional effectiveness. She is deeply committed to fostering critical thinking, innovation, and institutional excellence.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Mencacci enjoys spending time with family and friends, participating in outdoor activities, and gardening. She remains dedicated to advancing Southeastern's mission of providing an environment of excellence that empowers students, faculty, staff, and the broader community to achieve their highest potential.
