Delmarva Power is Ready for Summer Weather: Investments, Planning and Preparedness Help Keep the Lights on for Customers

Teams across the Company are participating in drills and proactive planning efforts to keep storm response skills sharp. These proactive measures are essential to ensuring customers experience minimal disruptions during the summer when energy demand is the highest. Delmarva Power is also investing in work that will keep the lights on. This includes projects like:

Kings Creek to Crisfield Reliability Project: Upgrading an existing transmission line and installing 17 miles of new transmission lines between the Kings Creek and Crisfield substations. State-of-the-art equipment will reduce outage frequency and help restore power if the lights go out.

Piney Grove to New Church Reliability Project: Upgrading nearly 22 miles of transmission lines between Salisbury, Md. and New Church, Va. This will reduce outages and allow the company to restore service even faster.

Silverside to Naamans Reliability Project: Modernizing more than 4.5 miles of critical transmission lines between the Silverside and Naamans substations. This will help keep the lights on when extreme weather hits.
