September 9, 2025 - If you've ever wondered if your sprinkler system could be more efficient, the City of St. Petersburg has a free resource available to help you preserve water, save money, be more sustainable, and protect the environment.
The City's free Sensible Sprinkling Program, which helps residents and businesses improve the efficiency of their irrigation systems with the guidance of a local expert, is back for a limited time.
This free service is available to City water customers with operable, in-ground sprinkler systems using potable, reclaimed, or well water. Eligible customers will receive, at no charge:
A sprinkler system evaluation with site-specific recommendations
A diagram of the existing sprinkler layout
Installation of a rain sensor
Personalized water conservation tips
More information and the program application are available at https://www.stpete.org/WaterPrograms.
