Crater Road striping begins near Haleakalā National Park next week

KAHULUI, Hawaiʻi - The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) is notifying the public that one lane on Crater Road (Route 378) will be closed beginning on Monday, Aug. 10 for permanent striping work. Traffic will be alternated in the open lane.

The closures will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The project is scheduled to begin at mile marker 10 on Crater Road near the Haleakalā National Park entrance station and will proceed down the mountain. The closure will only be in the work zone. The project is expected to last through September.

Please follow all traffic controls and drive safely around the workers.
