The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) had a strong presence at the 2025 American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting & Expo, held November 2-5 in Washington, DC. Throughout the week, ASPPH hosted a series of sessions, networking events, and meetings that highlighted leadership, innovation, and collaboration in academic public health.
Key sessions included Misinformation, Public Health, and the Fight for Truth: Strategies for Action, which addressed the growing threat of health misinformation and strategies for strengthening trust in science and communication, Healthy Longevity Framework: Aligning Public Health to Successfully Advance Healthspan, which explored policy and practice approaches to help communities thrive longer and healthier, and Transforming Academia for Equity: A collaborative between the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), which explored the Transforming Academia for Equity initiative and its efforts to implement system and change level strategies that advance inclusive teaching, research, and practice.
At APHA this year, ASPPH also hosted a This Is Public Health® Graduate School Fair and organized student and career networking events. And in partnership with the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF), ASPPH proudly sponsored the Academic and Practice Linkages in Public Health (APLPH) Caucus, featuring sessions that emphasized workforce development, community engagement, and academic-practice collaboration.
In recognition of our members' leadership, we would also like to congratulate our members who won awards during the 2025 APHA Annual Meeting:
We also extend congratulations to Dr. Daniele Fallin, Dean, Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, who received a 2025 Epidemiology Section award during the meeting.
