Threads of the most spectacular nature will soon react to your very will. Last time we met, you fought in the Chaos Convoy and battled the new Monster Commander. This update introduces a new Battlepass, Goblins running galore, and an update to the Wing Customization system.
As with previous content updates, there will be server maintenance starting on February 25, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. PST for Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe servers, and on February 26, from 12 a.m.-2 a.m. PST for servers in the Americas. After the maintenance has concluded, all items mentioned below will be live-specific dates for any features going live afterward are provided below.
Note that on March 8, the server time for North America will move forward by 1 hour.
Take the Voyage of the Carmine Coin
Wield the Harbinger of Darkness
Attend the Redeemer's Reception
Greedy Coin lusting miscreants emerge from loot-laden lairs across Sanctuary. It appears that while they've been hiding in their vast network of treasure lairs, new variants have emerged to cause fresh havoc.
From February 26-March 12, 3:00 a.m. local server time, Avarice the Gold-cursed returns to scourge Sanctuary with his fickle pots. Adorning his reign are these new goblin variants:
While these Treasure Goblins will randomly spawn in both Wildzone and Dungeons, you can also activate a special event when in dungeon that sends you straight to Avarice himself.
When this rare dungeon event occurs, a portal will appear at the Dungeon entrance, teleporting you directly to the final step where only the Goblin King, Avarice, remains.
The dubious merchants of Sanctuary's markets seldom offer such generous terms. Surely these terms are found solely from the sudden appearance of upstanding morals, with no other nefarious intentions laying in wait.
On March 12, 3:00 a.m. local server time, log-in to glimpse a preview of our next major update coming in to the lands of Sanctuary. Note that you will need to be over Level 30 to participate in the event, and doing so will earn you an additional 100% bonus to experience gained from the Battlepass.
While Voyage of the Carmine Coin is live, you'll receive a 100% bonus to XP gained from Battlepass levels. Rewards unlock on Day 2, 4, and 8 by logging-in and completing daily tasks.
On February 26, the Alliance calls you into another world to earn a remarkable companion. In World of Warcraft, you'll need to complete a specific quest in Silvermoon City to earn the Harbinger of Darkness. Don't let their appearance deceive you, the Harbinger of Darkness is as malevolent as they are stalwart in their companionship.
DELAYED: This feature has been postponed until a future build. We will have more information on its release for you all soon. Thank you for your patience.
The winds of Sanctuary carry many legends; now your wings can tell yours. This serves as a preview for the new Awakened Wing system, which will arrive in a future content update.
After unlocking the ability to restyle your Wings by reaching the heights of 1000 Resonance, visit Yaira at Westmarch to claim your first pair of customizable Wings. From here, you'll now be able to trade Astral Plumes to re-roll your Wings for new customizations and combinations. Each Astral Plume will cost 160 orbs.
Through this new system, you'll be able to obtain various wing variations that can roll on 3 different variables: Shape, Material, and Color. On your first roll, only the Color variation is available to roll.
After 2 restyles, you'll unlock VFX variations, and after that, after 9 restyles, you'll unlock variations on your wing Shape. Each roll will give you a variation on each unlocked aspect of your wings, giving you virtually limitless combinations.
To give players a little more agency over the wings they're rolling, you'll be able to lock one of the aspects of your wings and reroll the other two. For example, you can lock your Color, and just re-roll the shape and VFX.
While wing combinations might be limitless, your inventory of wings will not be. You can only store 18 Wing styles in your inventory and can only choose to store X from every roll, so be wary of that when choosing to roll multiple at once.
The more rolls you commit, the more variations of color, shape and VFX you'll unlock. Each variation also adds to an overall Score for your wings, and reaching higher scores allow you to unlock different perks, including the ability to fly in non-PVP content!
From February 25-March 25, 3:00 a.m. local server time, smash through returning events to earn progress and rewards in the Redeemer's Reception.
Events that earn you progress in the Redeemer's Reception:
Survivor's Bane
Trial of the Hordes
Fractured Plane
Wild Brawl
Horadric scholars are deep in study, unraveling the mysteries behind a sudden surge in materialized wealth. Meanwhile, Sanctuary's merchants waste no time, capitalizing on the phenomenon to expand their fortunes.
From March 12, 3:00 a.m.-March 19, 3:00 a.m. local server time, you will be able to activate a special boost and earn increased rewards!
While Winds of Fortune is live, activate your 24-hour buff to receive this boost. Once activated, the buff duration is in real time and will end 24 hours after it's been initiated. If you have not activated the buff within 24 hours of the event ending, it will be enabled automatically. Any rewards not claimed before the end of the event will be auto-claimed on the next log-in.
During Winds of Fortune, the 4-player party Normal Gems bonus drop will be doubled and unaffected by the daily cap, and only the first twelve Common Gems of the day will be tradable.
Any of these items will drop in duplicate quantities:
Items from these activities will also drop in duplicate quantities:
Note that during this limited-time event, rewards will not be doubled, and the weekly limit on Points and Normal Gems will not change. Any bonus Experience gained will be affected by your current modifier.
Additionally, there are limits to each item that can be earned in duplicate quantities. You'll earn double the amount until you reach the limit. Check out the event in-game for more details.
We're making several changes across the Battlepass system with the spirit of creating more opportunities for you to earn more gilded cosmetics.
Since the introduction of Telluric Pearls in the Collector's Battlepass, we're adding even more to make the Empowered Battle Pass more robust, including a new exclusive Legendary Gem, access to equip legacy Battlepass skins, and enhanced versions of new garb.
We're excited to introduce a new system that grants you the ability to unlock a premium version of the Battlepass cosmetic if you complete consecutive Battlepasses.
Moving forward, we're going to give players the ability to earn a new Skin in one battlepass, unlock a more premium version in a second battlepass, and then unlock that premium skin for 3 additional classes with a third battlepass.
While this means fewer Battlepass skins over the course of a year, we believe that these changes will address feedback that we have seen from players regarding an even more impressive Battlepass Skin, as well as a desire to be able to use those skins across other classes.
When someone extends the branch of peace, prepare for thorns. We're introducing a new gem that can be acquired from the Empowered Battlepass.
War Herald is a great gem to jump into a fight, buff your damage and shield protection when the heat is on.
Dealing or taking damage equal to 100% of your maximum Life grants War Resolve, Increasing your damage for 2 seconds. You Will lose War Resolve if you die or leave combat.
Taking heavy damage during War Resolve grants a shield that absorbs damage.
This new gem will be available exclusively through the Battlepass for now. However! Be aware that you'll have to choose between this new gem, Telluric Pearls, or the 2-Star Legendary Gem Selection Chest!
While you have a Battlepass active, you'll now be able to unlock the ability to use a selection of older Battlepass Skins. These are temporarily granted to you and will become unavailable with the conclusion of the Battlepass.
It is a dark age indeed when celebration and punishment are impossible to distinguish from one another.
Visit the in-game shop to purchase these loud threads for your own.
With the next major update on March 19, we're planning to adjust the Vithu's Urges set bonuses.
We don't make this change lightly, but the set bonuses have many inconsistencies in-game and we feel the overall health of combat in the game will be better off by adjusting how the bonuses functions.
Previously, Beneficial Effect Duration (BED) was capped at 80%, but Vithu's 2-set was a secondary multiplicative modifier for BED so it extended effects beyond the 80% cap because it functioned differently and this is why it didn't always include all gems or other effects like expected.
With the update on March 19, Vithu's 2-set bonus will become Beneficial Effect Duration and the cap will be increased to 100%. This means there'll be less effective uptime on Beneficial Effects than they had previously, which is expected. This is just one step in a series of adjustments we plan to make over the next few months to help slow down combat pace and lethality in PvP, but this will be a long process.
This also means that effects that you provide to other players will no longer be extended by Vithu's, but all Legendary Gems will now work with Vithu's in the same way that Beneficial Effect Duration does.
Blessed Hunter is no longer a limited-time event and does not expire. Set items from dungeons will always have a chance to gain additional stats, increase quality, or convert into the set of your choice.
Use the My Loot chat channel to find out more detailed information about how your set items are blessed.
Blessing of Legends is becoming a permanent feature.
For those new to it, Blessing of Legends is an optional enhancement to increase your drop quality, and the chances of finding new essences for your current class. This is an hour-long buff which gets replenished or extended each day for a maximum allowance each week.
We found a lot of positive community sentiment around this feature and wanted to give our players more rewarding drops each day or week to play.
We're making it easier for you to obtain featured 5-Star Legendary Gems during events where their Drop Rates are increased. Now, when you obtain 4x 5-Star Legendary Gems that are not the featured Gem during these events, you are guaranteed to get the 5-Star Variant on the 5th 5-Star Legendary Gem that drops.
As we continue to implement systems and changes to fight against illicit activity in-game, we are increasing the Normal Gem trade restrictions to the Inferno 8 difficulty. Normal Gems cannot be sold on the market from a character that has not unlocked Inferno 8.
Based off player feedback, we're adjusting the times for Convoy and Battleground in North America. These changes extend Convoy availability during peak hours, move Battleground to start one hour earlier, and give you the ability to choose between Convoy and Battleground at peak hours.
Here's the updated schedules for both Daylight Savings time and Classic Battleground:
Convoy
Battleground
A new Vanguard season is upon us. Return to Lidwinter Woods and work together to protect the Guardian Spirit and unlock the power of the Vanguard Charm.
Based on player feedback, we'll be adjusting settings within the Helliquary queue system in a few ways so that creating parties is more intuitive and less confusing for you.
While matchmaking, the Helliquary UI will now focus on the boss you're matchmaking for. This highlights the boss you're queued for on the left boss selection bar while dimming out unselected bosses. Additionally, the selected boss will be forced as the selected visible boss within the main UI for all players in the raid.
You'll no longer be able to change the selected boss while in the middle of a Helliquary queue.
The reward icons on the left boss selection bar will now be more visible, including a green check mark, to make it easier to see which bosses you have and haven't completed within the lockout for rewards.
A new option for the raid leader will allow them to disable the queue button for other players, making it so only the raid leader can start searching for more players.
