Congressman Garbarino Releases Statement on Third Anniversary of October 7th Attacks

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Andrew R. Garbarino (NY-02), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement marking three years since the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks against Israel:

"Three years ago, Hamas carried out the deadliest attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust, taking the lives of over 1,200 innocent people, kidnapping innocent men, women, and children, including Americans, and inflicting unimaginable pain on communities in Israel and around the world.

The October 7th attacks reshaped the global terror threat landscape. As Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, I remain focused on ensuring our law enforcement, intelligence, and homeland security agencies have the resources and information they need to identify evolving threats and protect the American people.

On this anniversary, we not only remember the victims of October 7th but reaffirm our commitment to support Israel, confront antisemitism, and remain vigilant against the terrorism it inspires."

Congressman Garbarino has remained a strong supporter of Israel and has worked to strengthen U.S. national security in the face of evolving terrorist threats. As Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, he has focused on the threats posed by foreign terrorist organizations, the potential for terrorist activity to inspire violence in the United States, and ensuring federal, state, and local law enforcement have the tools necessary to keep Americans safe.
