$2.4 Million Awarded Through Illinois Innovation Voucher Program, Additional Funding Available

Thirty-four Illinois companies have been awarded a combined $2.4 million through the state's Innovation Voucher Program, which supports research and development partnerships between small businesses and Illinois universities. The program helps companies validate new technologies, accelerate product development, and move innovations closer to market.

The awards support projects across a wide range of industries, including health and life sciences, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, clean energy, food and agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and semiconductors. Each participating business is paired with an Illinois institute of higher education to access research expertise, facilities, and equipment.

In addition to the latest awards, another $2.6 million is now available for a third round of Innovation Voucher funding. Eligible Illinois-based businesses may apply for grants of up to $75,000 that can cover up to 75 percent of research engagement costs. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.

The Innovation Voucher Program is administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and is designed to support small business growth, strengthen university partnerships, and encourage research-driven innovation across the state. More information and application details are available through the program's website. For a full list of the Illinois companies awarded funding this round, please click here.
