Chinese Consul General in Johannesburg Pan Qingjiang Meets with the Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality

On April 29, 2026, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, Chinese Consul General in Johannesburg, met with Mr. Sipho Radebe, the Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening sub-national exchanges and cooperation.

Mr. Pan briefed on the current China-South Africa relations at both national and sub-national levels, highlighting China's upcoming measures to fully implement zero tariffs to the African countries. He expressed the hope that both sides would strengthen engagement, seize the opportunities of the momentous development of bilateral relations and the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchange, and promote more pragmatic cooperation and fruitful results.
