Tuesday, January 20, 2026

EmplifyHealth by Gundersen Friendship Clinicis pleased to welcome Rachael Johnson, board-certified physician assistant (PA-C), to its medical staff. She is now accepting patients of all ages.

Johnson provides comprehensive primary care with a strong focus on prevention and early detection of health concerns. She works closely with patients to create clear, personalized care plans that support long-term health and wellness. Her clinical interests include women's health, patient educationand community wellness.

Johnson is especially passionate about helping patients understand the importance of preventive healthcare, such as educating patients on routine screenings, including mammograms and colonoscopies. By taking time to explain care options, she helps patients feel informed and confident in their health decisions.

"My goal is to build trusting relationships with patients by taking the time to educate themso they feel informed and confident during their visit." Johnson says. "I want to look at each person holistically, including mind, body, and spirit."

Johnson earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, with a minor in health sciences. She completed her master's degree as a physician assistant (PA) at Northwestern Collegein Iowa.

As a PA student, Johnson completed a clinical rotation at EmplifyHealth by Gundersen Friendship Clinic with Keith Stueve, PA-C, where she developed strong connections with the care team and the community. That experience inspired her to return to the area to continue serving residents.

"I felt drawn to rural medicine and the opportunity to meet the need for more providers in the Adams-Friendship area," Johnson explained.

"It is rewarding when a student completes their clinical training with us and then returns to serve our community after graduation," said Frank Perez-Guerra, administrator, EmplifyHealth by Gundersen Friendship Hospital. "Rachael has been able to jump right in because she is already familiar with our clinic, our team and the community's needs."

Originally from Mosinee, Wis., Johnson now lives just outside of the Adams-Friendship area. She is a newlywedand enjoys hiking, traveling and reading. She is excited to put down roots locally and recently welcomed a new puppy to her family.
