ORDINANCE SUMMARY

Pursuant to Government Code section 36933(c), the following constitutes a summary of an ordinance introduced on September 2, 2025, and scheduled for further consideration and final adoption at the September 16, 2025, Regular City Council Meeting.

ORDINANCE NO. 624-25

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA, TO REVISE TITLE 16 OF THE MURRIETA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION 16. 44.045 AND AMENDING SECTIONS 16.08.010, 16.44.150, AND 16.110.020 RELATED TO GROUP HOMES, SOBER LIVING HOMES, AND RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITIES

This ordinance amends Title 16 of the Murrieta Municipal Code to establish regulations for group homes, sober living homes, residential care facilities, and rooming/boarding houses. The ordinance sets occupancy limits, spacing requirements, operational standards, and permit procedures and updates related definitions and land use tables. It has been found exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.

The City held a Regular Meeting on September 2, 2025, where Ordinance No. 624-25, amending the Murrieta Municipal Code was introduced with the following vote:

Ayes: DeForest, Stone, Holliday, Warren

Noes: None

Absent: Levell
