Motorists traveling on I-40 in Knox County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will affect traffic.
Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, September 1, the two right lanes of I-40 East at West Hills (Exit 380) will be closed as crews perform bridge repairs.
In addition, beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, September 1, bridge repairs will require the closure of the ramp from I-40 West to I-640 East (Exit 385).
These closures will be in place until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2.
As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and "Know Before You Go!" by checking travel conditions before leaving for their destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel.
