CEDAR's new look

CEDAR has a new look and feel.

In January 2026, CEDAR-WWU's repository of faculty, staff, and student scholarly work-migrated to a new platform, Archipelago. Archipelago was already home to WWU's multimedia repository, MABEL, and hosting both repositories on a single platform will allow WWU to manage them more flexibly and efficiently. It will also streamline the search process for researchers wanting to explore CEDAR and MABEL at the same time.

CEDAR and MABEL now live in the same digital space, with CEDAR operating as a sub-collection of MABEL, with its own scope and purpose. Users can access CEDAR from MABEL or via its classic cedar.wwu.edu web address and can navigate by browsing CEDAR's collections or searching within the Archipelago search box. Members of the WWU community can add their work to CEDAR by contacting [email protected].

For faculty and staff who previously had Scholars @ Western profiles in CEDAR listing all their publications, profiles will now be hosted on Drupal. Because of staffing capacity, the CEDAR migration team did not proactively migrate all profiles to Drupal. However, WebTech personnel are happy to assist anyone who would like support in making the change. You can also access and edit your own profile by following the instructions on the Editing Faculty and Staff Website Directory Profiles page. For support or if the Drupal profile is insufficient to meet your needs, please contact Web Tech ([email protected]) for assistance.

If you have any questions about CEDAR's new look, feel, or functionality, or think something might not have migrated properly, please contact [email protected].
