On January 31, 2026 Islamabad hosted the 9th round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The delegations were led by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhramjon Aloyev and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Syed Ali Asad Gilani.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan-Pakistan cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres were thoroughly discussed. The implementation of agreements reached during high- and top-level visits was reviewed.
The parties welcomed active contacts at various levels, the steady growth of bilateral trade and the implementation of joint projects in priority industrial sectors.
Priority areas were highlighted for strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, expanding the contractual and legal framework of bilateral cooperation, and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation on multilateral platforms.
Special attention was given to leveraging existing potential in trade, industrial cooperation, agriculture, tourism, education, and healthcare sectors.
The consultations also emphasized the importance of planned visits at different levels, joint events including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, a business forum, a national products exhibition, and a number of cultural events in the current year.
Uzbekistan and Pakistan agreed to continue close dialogue between their foreign ministries to strengthen practical cooperation on a wide range of bilateral agenda issues.
